Looking back:
Seoul, 2019.
I am not a cityscape photographer and few cities inspire me to give it a try, but Seoul in South Korea is one that does. The city is flanked by mountains, and with its tall buildings it feels like a mountain range in its own right. I loved climbing small peaks to higher vantage points to point my camera across the city and capture the first light of a new day, or the twinkling lights late at night.
I had a favourite hill in particular, Maebongsan. The views it offered were not especially varied, and the pavilion at the top of a short but steep climb was often partly hidden by growing plants, but the view was always breathtaking. I have never called another city breathtaking before, and I am not particularly fond of city life, but Seoul has always been a favourite of mine. I would love to return some time, with the new knowledge of photography I have, and see how it inspires me.

2026 Workshop:
Thank you so much to everyone who joined me this year for workshops! I think it's safe to say we all had a blast and it was lovely to meet so many people from different walks of life.
Many of you have reached out in regards to next year's UK workshops, and at the moment I have no plans to run workshops in 2026. This is not because I do not enjoy doing so, I love them! I simply wish to put my focus towards another channel of my work. That being said, I may change my mind ha and if so you will know by Spring. I will still be a part of Siren Adventure Tours though and be running tours out to Iceland throughout the year!
What's next on Youtube?
In my latest video, I go on one more fungi hunt in the Forest of Dean and break down the photographic process.

Next up: 'A Deer Photography Journey: Ep 2'. Join me as I continue my wildlife photography journey!
Currently being filmed: 'Practicing patience in wildlife photography.'
One I keep trying to film but it's just not happening: 'What I really think of the Hasselblad X2D.' I will get this one done at some point and the fact I'm struggling to film it (I have a particular idea for the video) really mirrors my thoughts in the video. It just isn't working!

Weekly Fungi Hunt:
Gear of the Month:
It felt as though fungi season was over far too quickly this year! But what a season it was! A walk through the forest a few days ago saw some lingering mycena fungus's still growing on rotting wood after rain, however, the frost has arrived and boy is it cold out there! I can't believe how quickly the weather has turned. Naturally, I will keep an eye out throughout winter for growth as there is still the odd species that will grow with the right conditions.
My Filming Set Up:

My Nikon Z30 and main filming lens (24mm f/1.7) go through a lot. I certainly put them through their paces! I've been asked about what I use to film a lot recently, and this is it! Some of you may remember I recently had to replace my Z30 body, and it wasn't due to water (rain) damage as you may have expected! The LCD screen simply gave out after so much use and it just happened to do so in the midst of a rather heavy shower. I toyed with the idea of changing this set up seeing as I had to replace the camera body anyway, but I realised that it worked so well for what I do. That, and setting it up is practically muscle memory at this point! I enjoy the quality of footage that I get from this camera and it's a huge part of every video project.
